We begin with a custom-designed plan tailored to each individual client. We offer a full range of services to meet your needs. We proudly contract with the Veterans Administration and offer a Veterans discount.
Select Home Care Portland Caregiving Services
We not only perform the senior care services listed below, but we take care of all of the little things that are needed from day to day. We will take out the garbage, empty the litter box, or provide any other typical services needed to keep the house running smoothly.
Our RN oversees our caregivers and ensures that our team is providing the proper level of care. If our caregivers notice anything unusual or observe a change of condition in your loved one, they will notify our office (and subsequently you) right away.
Our in-depth, in-person assessment ensures that our team is well-equipped to care for you or a loved one. We look forward to answering your questions and determining if in-home care is right for you.
Personal Care: Personal care is one of the most common types of in-home care. Generally, this type of care is meant for individuals with chronic health conditions, physical disabilities, or difficulties with strength, coordination, and mobility. Personal care services may include assistance with dressing and grooming, bathing, help with exercises, transfer assistance, monitoring vital signs, and more.
Companion Care: Companion in-home care typically includes several ways to make daily living easier and safer for the recipient. For example, a caregiver might perform errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up medications, on behalf of a client. Companion care services may include light housekeeping, transportation, meal preparation, 1:1 sitter duties, and pet care.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care: In-home care services for clients with Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia offer the benefits of specialized care while empowering people living with cognitive impairment to maintain a high quality of life in their own homes. This type of in-home care can help keep a loved one as independent and at home for as long as possible.
Complex Services: Complex care services are tailored to clients with advanced diagnoses such as Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Through our holistic approach, customized care plans, and ongoing evaluation, we strive to empower our clients to lead fulfilling lives with the highest level of dignity and independence. These services may include medication management and administration, nursing services, hospice coordination, and more.
Overnight Care: Overnight care is a specialized service offered by our experienced care team at Select Home Care Portland. During typically 12-hour night shifts that start at 8 or 9 pm, our caregivers cover the myriad needs that may arise throughout the night, ensuring our clients are safe and well-rested. Overnight care includes assistance with bedtime and morning routines and additional tasks completed while your loved one is asleep.
Respite Care: Respite care is a short-term break from caregiving. It allows family caregivers to take a break, recharge, and return refreshed, ultimately benefiting both the caregiver and the care recipient. Caregivers who take time off report lower stress levels and are better equipped to provide quality care.

Select Home Care Portland is licensed at the highest level offered by the state of Oregon (basic, limited & comprehensive). With RN oversight, this classification allows our team to take on complex cases that may require medication administration or nurse delegation such as hospice patients that require narcotics.
This classification level allows us to be contracted with the Veteran’s Administration, which we proudly serve.
Our caregivers have a wide range of specialties which include training on fall risk, dementia, cardiac, Parkinson’s, and end-of-life care to name a few. We double the annual training hours required by the state with our own customized process aimed at patients with specific care needs.
Full-time W2 employees that are licensed, trained, and bonded. Our full-time staff goes through an extensive background check process, professional reference checks, and extensive training.
